Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card offer

One of the most interesting credit card offers
Pick up this card. Spend $4,000 in the first three months. The provider gives you 100,000 of its proprietary rewards points. Then you can trade them for $1,500 worth of travel, as long as you book your flights or hotel rooms through their card. That means that you could fly from LA to Hawaii in business class for free. The card isn’t cheap. There’s an annual membership fee of $450, but they will reimburse you for $300 worth of travel expenses, so essentially the card costs only $150 each year. Offers like this don’t last long. This week, the provide indicated that it would cut the 100,000-point bonus in half for anyone who applied online after Jan. 12.

If you have another Chase card, where you earn ultimate rewards (i.e. chase freedom), you can later move those points to the bucket you earned from the Reserve card and then get the 50% bonus on the transferred points when you redeem for travel!

The card’s been around for a while. The Motley Fool wrote about it last September.

The points guy has a nice write up about it this week…
