Do you need a few extra dollars? Who doesn’t?! There is part time work available from Amazon. You can be a part time delivery person for Amazon.
Now before you go turn your nose up at the opportunity, what if I told you that it paid more than minimum wage…. well over minimum wage?! They are paying between $18 and $25 per hour for this new part time delivery crew.
Presently, the jobs are only available in Seattle, but (presumably in time for the holidays), they will be broadening out the opportunities to those people in Manhattan, Baltimore, Miami, Dallas, Austin, Chicago, Indianapolis, Atlanta, and Portland.
They are offering flexible hours and you can work any/all seven days a week. You need to have a clean record — they’ll run a background check on you — and have an Android smartphone. You need to be at least 21 years old and have a car and a valid driver’s license.
The program is named Amazon Flex.
They are offering very flexible schedules and hours. You can choose any available 2, 4, and 8 hour blocks of time to work the same day, or set availability for up to 12 hours per day for the future. You can work as much or as little as you want.
Initially, the program is not based upon traditional deliveries from Amazon.com, instead, you’ll deliver ultra-fast Amazon Prime Now
packages. You can pick up deliveries at a designated location near you and then deliver packages within a local radius, based on length of the delivery block you signed up for. So you can determine how far you are willing to drive; presumably, the further you are willing to drive, the more packages you will be delivering.
While the jobs are limited to a very few cities now and in the near future, if it is successful, they will be broadening this program out to other cities. As such, they are accepting signups now from people in other cities.
For those people looking for a few extra dollars who live in Seattle or one of the other major metropolitan areas which will be served in the near future, this sounds like a great opportunity to earn a few extra dollars by earning a reasonable hourly rate.
